Don’t keep selling me out, stop begging the question.
The compass is bent in the wrong direction.
Wandering without central magnetics; stuck in the flow.
I need a long break!
Get me some rest, I never promised you (any) poetic text secretly telling all radio static blasting through the black out.
Oh, it’s been too long, and I’m looking for another opinion.
It’s so easy to avoid a life of fear, if you just avoid living life.
But sometimes vicious lies can circle back and bite you with sharpened teeth.
Top to bottom talk must deliver something worth more than gold and silver, I’ve got some news to make you shiver.
I estimate this mark is serious.
Self-inflicted within examination.
Top to bottom talk just delivered.
Derangement, deviancy, sloth and gluttony;
Just as I would have turned it into.
Have you heard what I’ve heard?
Tiger prowling, is now departing.
So put on the brakes and back up.
See what I missed, calling me back with a…
Distraction staring, in the rear view.
[I’ve] been sold distrust of my memories.
It’s been too long
To remember the face the right way.
To remember the voice saying:
“This is the last time I come as apparition.
It’s almost time to go home.
Scratch the mud out your eyes,
look at what’s going on around you.”
It’s an old freak-out;
a warmed over cold case situation.
Do me a favor and meet me in person.
More old fashion like the old days.
To be honest I preferred it that way.
Over-complicated infancy.
Recommending some self-investigation.
I’m no criminal but I’m unforgiven.
I hear the cackling raiders of the long distance riot-crew chasing me down.
Their trap rises up around me.
They want to buy me out just to run me down.
Do I really need to prove myself in spite of this threat?
Run, run far away and never think of coming back.
The last thing I need is to grovel and plead on my knees.
God knows where I could be just an hour from now.
Run, run far away and never think of turning back.
These old feelings are fleeting and my hearts not built for bleeding.
Run, run far away and never think of turning back.
These old feelings are fleeting and my hearts not built for bleeding.

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
